Juniors

300x300_tennis_coaching05_jsWe have an active junior membership ranging from children just starting out in racket sports through to those who wish to compete at a higher level. Depending on age and experience, we also cater for those who want to take coaching and those who just want to join in and play.

Many of our young members develop into successful tournament players, some gaining coaching qualifications of their own.

Junior Membership

Juniors benefit from free membership until they turn 18 when one or more parents are full racket sport members of the Lansdown Club.

Coaching

We are rightfully proud of our junior coaching programmes for both tennis and squash and our coaches run an extensive junior programme catering for all levels and ages.  To find out full details click on the relevant sport below

Junior Ladder

There is a junior ladder at the club that every junior is part of.  It provides an opportunity for children to track their progress and for the new players to see their names alongside the junior club champions.

Tournaments

The club hosts different levels of junior tournaments throughout the year for both Squash and Tennis.  Please see each section for more details or contact one of the coaches for more information

England Squash

England Squash and Racketball

The Club Charter is a progressive club development programme that aims to increase the number of adults and juniors playing squash and Racketball in clubs, increase the recruitment, education and development of coaches and volunteers, and improve the infrastructure of our club network.  The Club Charter is linked to Sport England’s Clubmark award.  Put simply, by achieving Club Charter status, we have shown our commitment to offer a welcoming environment, set high standards in child protection, and work closely with local schools to develop the future generations of squash and Racketball players.

Club Mark

Sport England recognises and values the commitment made by the Lansdown Club to develop high quality, welcoming environments for young participants. The development of clubs that encourage young people to take-up sport, improve their talents, possibly play a leadership role and give them the option to initiate and maintain life-long participation in sport is an essential part of supporting the sporting infrastructure in England. The Lansdown Club are proud to have been recognised for achieving the standards necessary to obtain the Clubmark award.
