Tournament opportunities

We run and host various tournaments throughout the year

Social Tennis Tournaments

Social tennis tournaments for mixed doubles play on Sunday afternoons, and are open to all members whatever their playing standard. Matches are arranged so that all participants have a different partner and different opponents in each round of play. Everyone plays four or five rounds, and the four players with the highest scores are then asked to play a final set.

Those who have missed out on the final game are encouraged to stay for tea, with delicious cakes from the bar, in order to cheer on the finalists. The tournaments provide opportunities to compete with a wide range of players who have differing skill levels, strengths and weaknesses.

Club Championships

This usually runs during the months of May / June with a Finals day in late June / early July. A number of singles and doubles mens/womens/mixed/seniors categories are available to enter free of charge.

Once the seeded draw is available for each event it is up to participants to arrange their own matches by the date specified, providing their own balls for the purpose.

The exception is the mixed doubles which is played up to and including quarter final stage on a single weekend day – a charge is made for this event which includes an excellent 2 course lunch and is a popular social occasion not to be missed!
